BROWN BERRY SHOW YOUTH WALK AGAINST DRUG ABUSE



                                                         YOUTH WALK SEASON IV



My name is Kwamina Tandoh and I work with Choice FM and the project coordinator for the brown berry show.                                                                                                                                            First of all I will say we have organized several walks which has been a success. Our first walk was in 2011 to create AIDS awareness, we collaborated with the Ghana AIDS Commission and it was a success. 2012 was for peace because of the elections. We had EC officials on board to join us for the walk. 2013 was for road safety and this year’s theme is Drug Abuse.

WHY DRUG ABUSE?
We have heard times without number about people preaching about drug abuse but this time around, we are putting words into action to step forward to fight this evil. Come 28th June, People are going to step out of their homes to spread awareness against Drug Abuse.

THE SHOW
This is an educational walk organized by Brown Berry in collaboration with the Narcotics Control Board to fight the evil of Drug Addiction which is spreading its reach to people at an increasing pace. 25th June is the free drug day and Nacorb has joined has with Brown Berry to stand strong against this issue.                                                                                                         


The public is invited to take part in this walk. The starting point is Accra Mall and the destination point is Choice FM Forecourt. The walk ends with so many entertaining activities that promises fun for folks of all ages. There will be honors for:                                                                              
 1.Youngest and oldest person to participate.                                                                                       
 2. Best Jama Squad.                                                                                                                      
 3. Most repped hood.                                                                                                                                
4. Most repped school.                                                                                                                          
 5. Most vibrant click.                                                                                                                           
 And also there will be a rap battle, performances by both underground artist and Artist, photo shoot, fashion show, video games, jams, eating competition.                           
The dress code will be white, light green, or blue top.

IMPORTANCE OF THE WALK
This walk will play a leading role in bringing local schools, parents and youth together with law enforcement to fight against drug abuse.

 INVITED SCHOOLS
We have invited several schools including Accra girls, Achimota, St.Mary’s, Accra Academy, GIJ, UPS, Central University, AbroMedia and AU CC.
